Monday, May 26th, 2008 |

Each year, millions of individuals decide to take a vacation.  If are interested in scheduling a romantic getaway for you and your spouse or a family vacation, there are a number of destinations that you can choose from.  If privacy, fun, excitement, and warm weather is what you would expect to receive from your vacation, you may want to consider vacationing in St. Thomas.

St. Thomas, located in the Caribbean, is in the Virgin Islands.  St. Thomas is often considered one of the most popular vacation destinations in the Caribbean and in the entire world.  If you have never been to St. Thomas before, you may be wondering what type of events and activities are available on the island.  Truth be told, there are an unlimited number of activities.  Vacationers are never bored or leave disappointed when it comes to St. Thomas.

As previously mentioned, St. Thomas has a wide variety of activities that are geared towards individuals of all ages.  One of the most well-known and popular activities includes guided tours. When vacationing in St. Thomas, there are many tourists that sign up to take one of the many guided tours that can be found in the area.  If a guided tour of St. Thomas sounds fun to you, you will have to select a tour.  Popular tours are offered on foot, bike, boat, and underwater.

Each of the above mentioned tour methods are popular, but in St. Thomas many enjoy the underwater tours.  Underwater tours are available for those who are able to scuba dive.  If you are interested in taking a scuba diving tour, but you do not know how to dive, you can easily learn.  Most underwater tour companies offer diving lessons for adults and children.

One of the reasons why scuba diving tours are popular in St. Thomas is because of the underwater activity.  The sea life that can be found deep in the ocean is beautiful and amazing. In many cases, you will be able to swim right up to underwater creatures that you only dreamed of seeing. Additional guided tours may take you along coral reefs or to underwater wreckage.

Aside from underwater tours, tours that are hosted above the water are just as popular.  These tours are most often given on a boat.  Boat tours regularly travel around the St. Thomas Island.  Boat tours are popular because they allow you to get a good view of the sea and the St. Thomas coast.  If you are looking to relax while enjoying the costal views of St. Thomas, you may enjoy a guided boat tour.

If you are interested in selecting a guided boat tour, there are a number of different boating options.  Sail boat tours are available, as well as larger boat tours.  Sail boat tours are often limited on the amount of people that can come onboard.  If you are looking for a private and intimate tour, a sail boat tour may be your best bet.  Adventure lovers may enjoy taking a guided tour while kayaking.  Kayaking is a popular, fun, and active way to explore the St. Thomas Island.

While hiking and biking tours are not as popular in St. Thomas as they are in other areas of the world, they are still popular.  If you are interested in participating in a guided tour that requires you to be active, you may enjoy hiking or biking around St. Thomas.  For the most part, the terrain is smooth, but you may come across areas that may be difficult for inexperienced hikers.

If you decide that you would like to schedule a guided tour, while vacationing in St. Thomas, you are encouraged to determine whether or not reservations are needed.  Scuba diving tours and boat tours are popular among St. Thomas tourists.  To ensure that you are able to participate in the guided tour of your choice, you are encouraged to make the proper arrangements ahead of time.

Low Cost Vacation in Maui, not Impossible

Monday, May 26th, 2008 |

If you’re tight on the budget and yet still wants to have a swell of a great time in Maui, then here’s an exciting tip: you can have a low cost Maui vacation if you just know where to look. And here’s where we’re going to help.

We will tell you some of the things that you could do in Maui that will not burn a hole in your wallet. You will be able to sleep well tonight knowing that the family fortune in that old wooden chest of yours will stay safe and sound.

Let’s first make things clear, cheap does not automatically mean inferior in any way. In the first place, you’re in Maui, you’re in Hawaii. With the ambiance alone, you can’t possibly hate such a wonderful place. With the great beaches, the forest trails, waterfalls, underwater adventures, the marine life, whether you enjoy your stay in the island is really up to you. Second point, the various cheap activities you could do in the island just happened to be free in the first place.

If you’re going to rent a car during your stay in the island, you might as well go for a scenic drive. Most will tell you that Maui has an already alluring scenic route, regardless of where you go, you will end up captivated with the surroundings. But if you want to be certain, take the Road to Hana or the West Maui Circle. Both routes can be quite interesting. It would be ideal to begin your tour early in the morning to cover more roads and scenic stops.

If you’re a nature lover, you’ll need to exert some extra effort for this activity. Make sure you get up early, hours before the sun rises. Get your outdoor gear in order and begin trekking the side of the mountain of Haleakala all the way to the top and hopefully you’ll be on time to see mother nature at her best.

Pack some food along the way, make sure you charge the batteries of you digital camera, and some gas money and you’re on your way.

If you’re going to the beach, one activity that you should never miss is snorkeling. Maui has some of the best snorkeling spots in the world. If you’re already there, you might as well rent some snorkeling gear, which doesn’t cost much, and take a plunge into an underwater adventure.

If you have some extra cash with you, you can upgrade a snorkeling experience into a scuba diving expedition. But I might be taking it too far since we’re talking vacation on a budget here. Probably the best known places to go snorkeling in Maui are in the beaches of Ka’anapali, Kamaole and Honolua on the West side of the island.

Well if you don’t feel like snorkeling, which I will never understand why, the best plausible activity you can do on the beach is to….do nothing. Basking under the tropical sun with friends and family, enjoying the white sand, doing family stuff or plain lounging along is an experience that will hardly cost anything. Although, you will need to pay for the sunscreen lotion but that’s something you should not cringe about.

Having a low cost vacation in Maui is not only possible, but is actually doable. All you need is a little planning, get information from locals on the best places to go since most of the time the fun places are open secrets among locals. Remember, your vacation is only fun and memorable if you make it.

The Caribbean weather makes St. Thomas warm and inviting.  Few golfers ever get to experience golfing in tropical weather, but with vacationing in St. Thomas you will.  Almost all year round the weather is perfect. This means that whenever you decided to vacation in St. Thomas, whether it be in the spring, summer, fall, or winter, you are almost always guaranteed beautiful weather.

The weather alone is enough to bring in golf lovers from all around the world, but that is not the only reason why you, and many other golfers, would enjoy golfing in St. Thomas.  As previously mentioned, St. Thomas is an island that is located in the Caribbean. This island is home to some of the best ocean views in the world.  Many golf courses are positioned so the ocean can be viewed from just about any angle.

When golfing in St. Thomas you can take your pick from a large number of golf courses. As in the United States, St. Thomas is home to a number of traditional golf courses and golf resorts.  If you have already made overnight accommodations you may not want to stay at a golf resort. Just because you will not be staying at a golf resort, does not mean that you cannot play golf. You may be unable to play on resort courses, but there should be large number of golf courses in the area that you will be granted access to.

If you are interested in vacationing at a St. Thomas golf resort, you may have a difficult time deciding on one location.  Golf resorts are located all around the island. Many are located along the coast.  If you are interested in pursuing other activities besides golfing or you are vacationing with a non-golfer, you may wish to select a golf resort that is located along the beach or at least near one.  This will allow you and the rest of your party to enjoy beach activities, as well as golf.

If you have made the decision to vacation at a St. Thomas golf resort, you are encouraged to schedule your reservations well in advance.  Depending on when you travel, you may find that many popular golf resorts, along the coast, are fully booked.  In addition to guaranteeing that you will get a room, most upscale golf resorts require reservations.

Avid golfers, maybe even yourself included, may want to bring along their own golf clubs. When traveling, it is important that you treat your golf clubs like any other piece of luggage.  You are encouraged to place an identification tag on your golf bag. Your identification tag should include your name, home address, phone number, and possibly where you will be staying in St. Thomas.  In the event that your luggage or golf bag gets lost, an identification tag can help.

Once you have started making travel plans and hotel accommodations you can begin to prepare for your trip.  Once in St. Thomas you will surely be able to see why it is such a popular vacation destination.
