Hostels are a cheap travel secret of budget travelers. They have been around in one form or another for a long time, and are oriented towards young travelers and anyone else seeking inexpensive accommodations. The U.S. version used to be more complicated, with guests helping with chores. They are simpler now. You rent a bed instead of a room, sharing the bathroom, living room and kitchen. Less privacy, but cheaper accommodations, and you get to socialize.

Travel money belts are still a good way to carry cash. They’re common, and thieves know of them, but it isn’t easy to tell if your belt has a hidden compartment, and it isn’t easy for a robber to get at it quickly. It is a good way to carry some of your cash when you travel. Here are some more ways.
There are travel options other than money belts for hiding cash and important papers. Use several of them, rather than putting everything in one place. Don’t carry too much cash. It’s easy now, almost everywhere, to access your money using an ATM, so carry enough for a few days, or a week at most.

Golf Clubs - There is no better time than a vacation to hit the links, so here are a few tips for traveling with golf gear. Fertilizers used on many golf courses can trigger explosive trace-detection equipment. Before flying, be sure to clean off clubs. Also remember to pack clubs in a travel bag and consider leaving it unlocked.

Unless you happen to be wealthy and have a lot of free time, chances are you wish you could fly more often than you currently can. Airfare is, of course, the most cost prohibitive element of long distance travel. Many people find themselves in situations where they know someone they could stay with in another city - so accommodations would be free - but there’s simply no way of being able to get there affordably. In terms of discount travel, there are some solutions to expensive airfares that are worth looking into if you are flexible and interested on a short visit rather than a long trip.

Strata titled holiday apartments on the east coast of Australia first came about well over a quarter of a century ago as a means of building holiday accommodation in large building complexes without the whole resort being owned by a single identity.
A ten storey building could then be built with each seperate apartment sold off to the public and one of the apartments to a resident manager who maintained the whole resort. They kept the gardens maintained, cleaned the pool and generally looked after the building. The other role they played was to rent out the apartments of owners to vacationers as an onsite real estate agent.

If you’re a budget traveler, chartered planes will cross your travel planning path at some point in time. The quality of charter flights can be both good and bad.
During certain times of the year, flying to a particular location can be very expensive. One way to beat the expense is to book a seat on a charter flight. I did this very thing once, booking a round trip ticket to Europe during the high season. The seat set me back $400, a savings of about $350 at the time.

Everyone loves to travel (almost everyone). I certainly do. Believe it or not, doing it right and doing it on a budget takes a little skill, knowledge and practice. But the required skills are not difficult, the knowledge required is easy to obtain, and the fun is in the practice!
